It is with heavy hearts the family announces the sudden and unexpected passing of Marilyn O’Connor on March 26th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family at Health Sciences North. Beloved wife of 62 years to Norvel O’Connor. Devoted mother of Cathy Pigeon (Stephen) of Barrie, Laurie De Benedet (Dennis) of Garson, Bill (Julia Moon) of Toronto and predeceased by Michael (June 2011) (Dr. Patricia Lechten) of Ivy, Ontario. Cherished and very special Nana of Travis, Jessica, Sarah, Ryan and Benjamin. Predeceased by her parents Roy and Loretta King. Predeceased by her brother Orlie and sister in law Lucille and loving sister of Doreen (Joe), Murray (Judy predeceased), Kenny (Lise), Sharon (Randy) and Colleen (Martin). Marilyn was born in Pembroke, Ontario. Marilyn worked at various banks in the Sudbury area and retired as a loans officer from the Royal Bank. Marilyn loved life and lived it to the fullest. She loved to paint, read, knit, travel and crochet. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed to bake, her specialty were scones and her muffins whom she shared with family and friends. Marilyn will be missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins and an abundant circle of good friends. A special thank you to Marcel and Laura. She kept in close contact with all of her children’s friends and called them her “pets”. Marilyn truly loved gardening and her beautiful flowers were exceptional. Marilyn was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Garson, as well as a 56 year C.W.L. member. Marilyn’s Catholic faith was very important to her.
