Obituary for Anne Kathleen Yaroshak

Anne Kathleen Yaroshak
In Loving Memory
of
Anne Kathleen Yaroshak
Peacefully, at Oshawa Lakeridge Hospital on October 4th, 2016 with her family at her side and in her 72nd year.

Anne, the daughter of Donald Sidney Page and Kathleen Page (nee Smith) was born November 11th, 1944 in Birmingham, England. In March, 1948 Anne, together with her parents and her older brother emigrated to Canada, landing at Pier 21 in Halifax and moving on to Montreal and then Toronto.
In 1957 the family relocated to Sudbury and Anne lived there for the next 50 years. She attended Sheridan Technical School where she was a top student, active in athletics, and very involved in student politics. She graduated at the top of her class and was the valedictorian for the 1963 school year. She was a popular student and the friendships Anne formed at Sheridan have lasted throughout the years. She attended North Bay Teachers College planning to enter the teaching profession, but on her return to Sudbury she obtained work as a bookkeeper and accounting became her career.
Anne was a devoted Catholic, a loving mother, daughter, and sister and a caring friend to many. She was actively involved in the Holy Redeemer Parish community for many years. She was a lifelong supporter of many charities and organizations, including PETA, the SPCA, the Catholic Women's League, Metanoia Outreach, and the Christian Children's Fund.
The midpoint of her life was marked by a tragic automobile accident that left her partially disabled and dependent on others for many of the simple tasks in life. However this limitation provided an opportunity for friends and family to experience the true gift of giving and for her to see firsthand the love of God through the kind actions of those around her. There was never a shortage of people offering to help and for that she is eternally grateful.
Anne loved to be around people and people loved to be around Anne. She always had a story to tell or a comment to make on politics, sports, or any other topic. She was passionate on the need for governments at all levels to be more considerate of the unique needs of individuals and she really loved her country. She had a great love for animals. Will be sadly missed by her feline family, J.R., Annie and Davey and by all who knew her.
She was predeceased by her son, David Yaroshak (1986), her father Donald Page (1978) and her brother Colin Douglas Page (1955). She will always be lovingly remembered by her mother Kathleen Page, by her son Paul Yaroshak and his wife Su-Ming, by her son James Carrey, by her brother Donald Page and his wife Claire, by her grandchildren Dylan and Luka Yaroshak and Caprice, Jaimee and Cheyenne Carrey, and by nephew Brent Page and niece Shannon Alexander.

Special thanks to the staff of the palliative care ward at Oshawa Lakeridge Hospital and to the caring staff at Hillsdale Estates Long Term Care for the help and kindnesses they gave to Anne over the past nine years.

Visitation will be at
Lougheed Funeral Home
252 Regent Street at Hazel Street, Sudbury
Friday, October 7th, 2016 from 5 to 8 P.M.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at
Holy Redeemer Church, 1887 Bancroft Drive, Sudbury.
Saturday October 8th, 2016 at 2:00 P.M.
In Anne's memory friends are asked to spend a quiet moment in remembrances of their own mother and of the beauties of life.
Donations to the SPCA would be appreciated.
