Condolence: Dear Steve, Judith and Susan,
My condolences to you on the loss of your father.
As you know I grew up knowing your dad as a junior and then intermediate and finally an adult male golfer at the Club. I will never forget the year that I turned 18 and your dad invited me into his office and told me that I should start calling him Carl. I always enjoyed talking with your dad and listening to the many tips and advice he gave me over the years.
I'd often see your dad in his retirement years sitting out on his front porch and he always had a smile and friendly word.
I thought your dad was a great guy and I know all of our family was very fond of him.
He will be missed but his legacy and contributions to lives of the many people he met over the years at the Idylwylde will go on.

Condolence: I was saddened to hear of Carl's passing.Carl was was a wonderful Golf Pro who not only taught us the game but more importantly took a personal interest in each of us. The lessons of life that he taught me have carried with me and I have often used them and quoted Carl as I attempted to help my young members at Highland Country Club over my 39 year carrier. I became a Golf Pro because of Carl. I feel so blessed to have known such a great man. His life deserves a great celabration.

I will remember Carl from my days growing up at the Idylwylde. I truly learned a lot from him.

A few years ago, my brother found a range ball in a snow bank on his street in Ottawa. Printed on the ball was "Property of Carl Vanstone".

He was always professional with a good sense of humor and a man I greatly respected. His leadership and demand for perfection demonstrated the importance and significance of working hard and being a team player in order to be successful at work.
