Peacefully Friday, March 3rd, 2017 at Health Sciences North with loving family at his side.

Survived by his loving wife and best friend, Brenda (Duff) Melcher, daughter Stephanie Melcher and son Scott Melcher. Dear son of Wilfred and Elsie (Yahnke) Melcher. Dear brother of Arnold Melcher (Vera), Kenneth Melcher (Darlene), Gladys Lyons (Joe predeceased), Evelyn Cain (Hal predeceased), Freda Kathen (Nellie predeceased), and Marie Brady (John). Son in law of Tom and Evelyn (Mossey) Duff. Brother in law of Sister Marilyn Duff, CSJ, Monty Duff (Bonnie), Bev Calford (Ken), Gail Santche (Ken) (Gary Pidgeon predeceased), Tom Duff (Heather). Survived by his godchild Shannon Gouchie (Brady) and several nieces and nephews.

Ray was an accomplished carpenter and talented woodworker. He was quick to help others. He enjoyed going to the hunt camp where he prepared delicious meals for the Boys. In younger years, he played football and he was an avid Buffalo Bills football fan. He was a miner for over 40 years, retiring in 2010.

Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
