Yvon Drapeau
Yvon "Shorty" Drapeau died peacefully on March 3, 2017 at the age of 78 years at Health Sciences North with his family by his side.
Beloved husband of 56 years of Lucille (nee Langevin), Loving father of Sylvie (Gabriel Parent) of Chelmsford and Richard (Melanie Bouchard) of Mattagami. Cherished Pepere of Melany (Robert Gignac), Melissa, Mathieu, Audrey & Anthony. Dear son of Ovila Drapeau & Alice (nee Lambert) predeceased. Brother of Jean Guy (Therese), Huguette (Marcel predeceased) and Gisele (Lucien Lafontaine) of Amos, Brother-in- law to Jacques, Claire, Denis, Lucien, Anna & Suzanne all predeceased. Will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. “Shorty” came to the Sudbury Area at a young age and was a well known, respected, business owner of DC & Adventure Construction, and will be remembered as a hardworking man who was always willing to lend a hand. He was an avid fisherman and hunter who was most happy when surrounded by his family.
The family would like to thank Dr. Pitre and Dr. Knight from the Northern Cancer Center and the staff of Health Sciences North, 5th Floor South Tower for their wonderful care and compassion toward Yvon.

Yvon « Shorty » Drapeau est décédé paisiblement le 3 mars 2017 à l’âge de 78 ans à l’Horizon Santé Nord entouré de sa famille.

Époux bien-aimé de Lucille (née Langevin) Drapeau. Cher père dévoué de Sylvie (Gabriel Parent) de Chelmsford et Richard (Mélanie Bouchard) de Mattagami. Pépère adoré de Melany (Robert Gignac), Melissa, Mathieu, Audrey et Anthony. Fils de feu Ovila et feue Alice (née Lambert) Drapeau. Frère de Jean Guy (Thérèse), Huguette (feu Marcel), et Gisèle (Lucien Lafontaine) de Amos; beau-frère de Jacques, Claire, Denis, Lucien, Anna et Suzanne tous prédécédé. Il laisse aussi plusieurs neveux, nièces, cousins et amis. « Shorty » est venue dans la région de Sudbury à un jeune âge. Il est devenu un propriétaire bien connu et respecté de DC & Adventure Construction. Il sera toujours souvenu comme un homme extrêmement travaillant et toujours voulant d’aider. Il aimait beaucoup la pêche et la chasse et il était le plus content quand il était entouré de sa famille.

La famille aimerait remerciés Dr. Pitre et Dr. Knight du Centre de cancer du Nord de l’Ontario ainsi que le personnel du 5ième planché sud de l’Horizon Santé Nord pour leur compassion et bon soins envers Yvon.

La famille accueillera parents et amis au salon funéraire Jackson et Barnard, 233 rue Larch, Sudbury le mardi 7 mars 2017 de 19h00 à 21h00 et après 12h00 mercredi. Le service aura lieu dans la chapelle R.J. Barnard le mercredi 8 mars à 14h00.

Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à la Fondation du nord en cancérologie seraient grandement appréciés.
