Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 10th, 2017 at Health Sciences North.

Beloved husband and best friend of Jacqueline (nee Rajotte) Valkama. Dear son of Paul Valkama and Salli Penttila and step-son of Olli Penttila. Dear father of Michael (wife Helen Rowsell), Mark, Cynthia (partner Vern Foulser), and step-father of Corinne Jordan, Colette Carriere and Charline Carriere. Cherished grandfather of Alexander and Victoria Valkama, and step Grandad of Tyler and Cooper Snow. Dear brother of Irene Holcroft (husband Jack predeceased) and step-brother of Leo (Kathleen) Penttila and Jerry (wife Karen) Penttila. Loving uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Allan retired from Inco in 1991 with 33 years of service. He enjoyed time with friends at his favourite watering hole, solving all the world’s problems over a pint. Revered by many in the mining industry, Al enjoyed music, and watching sports with friends. The family wish to thank all the staff at the ICU, the South Tower 5th floor and the North Tower 4th floor at Health Sciences North for all of their care.

A Celebration of Life will be held
at the
Lougheed Funeral Home
252 Regent St., at Hazel St.
