Marie was born in Moncerf, Quebec. She married Wilfrid Lacroix in 1934 in Sturgeon Falls, moving to the Sudbury area in 1941. Marie loved life and lived it to the fullest. She had worked at Eaton’s and Rosalyn Faye Dress Stores and taught sewing and needlepoint for the Sudbury Board of Education’s night school program. She was a woman of faith and a devout Roman Catholic, living the lessons taught by Jesus on a daily basis. At St. Pius X parish she founded the parish picnic, the prayer partners, and the fellowship group. She was a life member of the CWL and dedicated member of the parish pastoral care team – her wonderful hugs were appreciated by all she met. Marie will be remembered for her stylish hats, her great smile, and commitment to help others. She was devoted to her family. The light of her life will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
