January 14th, 1929 – April 4th, 2017
It is with great sadness and grief to announce that Silvia (nee DeLonghi) Semenzin has passed peacefully at home with her loving family at her side on Tuesday, April 4th, 2017.

She was the beloved wife of Rodolfo Semenzin who predeceased her on May 13th, 2011. Silvia leaves behind her 3 beloved children, Sandra (Roland) Turgeon of Espanola, John Lee of Ottawa and Lidia of Sudbury. Cherished Nonna of Darryl (Denell) of Espanola, Steven (Sara) of Azilda, John-Carlo (Michelle) of Ottawa and Matthew of Ottawa. Great grandmother of Ty Anthony, Abbie Grace, Ayden Joshua and Skylar Jade. Daughter of Ferdinando and Guistina (Angela) (Giotto) DeLonghi predeceased. Dear sister of Maria (Pietro) Golfetto predeceased, Bertilla (Placido) Pan predeceased, Elena (Hugo) Pavan and Gianni (Laura) DeLonghi of Italy, and Mercedes (Luciano) Visentin of Sudbury. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in both Italy and Sudbury.

Silvia was born in Volpago, Treviso, Italy on January 14th, 1929 and immigrated to Canada in 1949 to marry Rodolfo and settled first in Copper Cliff and then in Gatchell. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a great homemaker and cook. It always pleased her to see everyone around her enjoying her cooking. She also loved to garden and preserve the fruits of her labor. Silvia was a Life Member of the Caruso Club and a member of the St. Anthony’s Parish C.W.L. She will be sadly missed, but leaves a wonderful legacy of love.

Tuesday, April 11th, 2017 at 10:30 A.M.
Entombment in the Civic Cemetery Mausoleum.
