Obituary for Marco Florean

The family announces with great sorrow the peaceful passing of Marco Florean (93 years) at his home with family by his side.
June 30th, 1923 – April 5th, 2017

“Behind a giving hand is a warm and gracious heart.”
Beloved husband of Dina (Morassut) Florean. Loving father of Robert (Pauline) of Espanola and Loretta (Bob) Ungar of Sudbury. Cherished Nonno of Marc (Lyndsay), Joshua (Laure), Christina, Jacob, Jenna (Ben) and Paul (Jess). Cherished great nonno of Reid, Kelton and Violet. Dear son of Domenico and Giuseppina both predeceased. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters. Loving and thoughtful brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend of many in Ontario and Italy.

Born in Fossalta Italy, Marco immigrated to a prosperous Canada in 1951 from France and worked in the deep basins of Frood Stobie Mine for over 33 years. He embraced his new home in Sudbury, becoming a proud Canadian while sharing his Italian heritage and traditions. Marco planted and harvested a bountiful garden of love with his beautiful wife Dina, which was shared by three generations; offering a generous spirit and wonderful inviting smile for all that met him.
He was the loving patron of the “Danforth Gang”, member of St. Andrew the Apostle Parish, Caruso Club, Fruili, Alpini and Cavalieri dalla Patria. He had unwavering devotion for his Holy Virgin Maria of Castelmonte, who protected a young man through World War II and carried him to his almighty God.

Marco and the family sincerely thank all for your loving visits, kind words, and prayers through his illness. A special thank you to the CCAC Palliative Care Team, Claire Warren NP and Dr. deBlacam.
