Frances (Fran) Battison
With profound sadness but with deep gratitude for her long life, her family announces the passing of Frances (Fran) Battison (Graham) on Friday April 14, 2017 in Sudbury at the age of 93, at Pioneer Manor.
Fran was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, James (Eddy) Battison in1996. She was born in the Ottawa Valley on June 30th, 1923, to John and Mary Ann (Gleason) Graham.
Adored and much loved by all her family, she was predeceased by siblings Gertrude (Gerdie) Cooper (Jack), Oliver (Ollie) Graham (Doris), Arthur (RED) Graham (Myrtle), Ellen (Mickey) Benson (Kenneth) and Dorothy. Survived by Margaret (Margie) Smirle (Tom).
Loving mother of Graham predeceased (Lina), Diane Abols (John), Mary Ann Peloso (Reno), Edward predeceased (Louise Ripley), John (Jocelyne), William (Bill) (Kathleen) and David predeceased (Laura). She was greatly loved by and loved her 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Fran and her husband Eddy owned and operated the Coulson Hotel for many years. She also worked at the Sudbury Algoma Hospital.
Fran enjoyed a very active life. In her youth she was involved in track and field and baseball. In later life she enjoyed partridge hunting with friends and was an avid curler. The last many years she enjoyed her hobbies of daily walks, swimming, knitting, reading and bridge. Fran loved to cook and bake for family gatherings and was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
She was an active member of her faith communities as a member of the CWL at Holy Redeemer and the St. Patrick's Parish bridge club.

St. Patrick’s Church
39 Walford Road, Sudbury
Friday, April 21st, 2017 at 11:30am.
Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Sudbury Catholic Cemetery.
Donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
