Obituary for Anna Stupak (Dobrowolsky)

STUPAK, Anna (née Dobrowolsky) - October 24, 1925 - April 29, 2017. Peacefully surrounded by her family at Finlandia Village, at age 91. Born in Ukraine, Anna immigrated to Sudbury in 1948 and married Harry Stupak in 1949. Anna was a pillar of strength and love to her family. A woman of profound faith, she was a faithful member of Saint Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church for almost 70 years and a long-standing member of the Catholic Women’s League. Loving wife of Harry Stupak (predeceased 1978). Devoted mother of Steven Stupak (wife Patricia) of Ottawa and Sonia Pawluch (husband Tony) of Sudbury. Cherished Baba to Matthew Stupak and Andrea Stupak of Ottawa and Andrew Pawluch and Adam Pawluch of Sudbury. Anna is predeceased by her parents Ivan and Maria (nee Babij) Dobrowolsky, brothers Dmytro, Michajlo, Mykola, Wasyl, Petro and Ilko and sister Yavkodia, all of Ukraine. The Stupak and Pawluch families would like to extend sincere appreciation to those who made Anna’s life more comfortable in her final years – Helen Dudynsky, Bayshore PSW’s and nurses, Finlandia Village staff as well as to Dr Krawczuk for his exemplary care and compassion. Resting at the JACKSON & BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury, Visitation Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Panakhyda 7:00 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Service at St Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 40 Notre Dame Ave. Monday, May 1st, 10:00 a.m. Internment in the family plot at Parklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Finlandia Village, or the charity of your choice would be gratefully appreciated.
