Obituary for
Antonius "Tony" Teklenburg
In loving memory of Tony Teklenburg who passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Friday, May 5th, 2017 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice at the age of 76. He leaves behind his beloved wife Anke (Willens) Teklenburg. He was the proud father of three daughters Charli Jelen (John) of Dowling, Mieke Nicholson (Greg) of Toronto and Mirjam Lee (Jason) of Lively. Cherished grandfather of Jesse, Jake, Bradley and Lewis. Tony was born in Holland June 9th, 1940. He, Anke and their three young daughters came to Canada November of 1973. They opened up their first restaurant on Lasalle in 1974 and retired in 2008. Tony was not only proud of his Dutch heritage but very proud to be a Canadian. He enjoyed life, travel, his gardens, classical music and took pride in living in Sudbury. Not only a well known and distinguished businessman, was very involved with in our community being Past President of the Rotary Club of Sudbury and a dedicated member of the Chamber of Commerce. Tony’s gentle nature and bright smile will be missed.
A memorial service will be held in the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Monday, May 8th, 2017 at 11:30am. Friends may call after 11am Monday in the chapel. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. If desired, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be greatly appreciated.
