Condolence From: Andy Rickaby
Condolence: Dear O'Grady Clan,
It is with a heavy heart I write this note. We were deeply saddened to hear of Carl's passing. Although most of us have reluctantly moved away from Long Lake, many (too many mention) vibrant wonderful memories will live on and add to the folk lore of Long Lake. Carl, Coleen and indeed all of you, were the glue that brought our enclave of campers together for so many years. Whether it was work parties on the road, corn roasts, water skiing, dock building, sauna raising, impromptu rescues (several), fishing trips, canoe trips, berry picking and the list goes on.
He was a principaled man of utmost integrity and conviction, a loving father and husband, a generous friend and neighbour. A man I personally held in high esteem along with my own father and George MacMaster. A mentor to me on many wilderness trips and truly our saviour one day when Terry, Mark and I got caught up the creek in a terrible thunderstorm..
His booming voice and indelible spirit will live on in the annals of our
Long Lake memories. The ones I hold dearest.
Kindest Regards and Deepest Sympathies,

Condolence: To my cousins -
My heart goes out to each and every one of you during this time of grief.
Your Dad was a man we all looked up to and admired. Fond memories are not far from mind when I think about Uncle Carl. When he spoke with you (even when he was playing a trick which was most of the time) he looked you right in the eyes and captivated you.
Memories are even fonder still when I think about Uncle Carl AND Aunt Colleen. Aunt Colleen with that fantastic open mouth laugh and that superb whistle!!
Your parents were so proud of their brood and no doubt your Dad knew you would be all ok - so when your Mom whistled, he knew it was ok to go....not that she would have given him much choice!!!
Much Love and Peace -
Kasey and Family

Each of you are in my thoughts and in my heart as you deal with the loss of your father - a very unique, devoted, and strong individual. Losing him so soon after your mom's passing must intensify the loss of each of them, and also bring clarity and meaning to their powerful presence in each of your lives - two very special people.
Sending you much love,
