Obituary for
Sue Tate (Cook)
Slipped away gently at the Elizabeth Centre on June 1st, 2017 in her 80th year. Survived by her husband of 58 years Rod, daughters Peri and Melanie, granddaughters Catriona and Annika, son-in-law Bill and sister Joan.
Sue will be remembered for her passionate involvement in various community activities: her days at the YMCA (for instance she loved being the JIC camp director); her involvement with theatre, both amateur and professional; her active role in the formative years of STC and her days as a civic activist in the heyday of the Walford and Nepahwin Ratepayers Association.
Those who want to seek out Sue’s spirit should look wherever the performing arts flourish, where good food, good wine and good friends abound and children splash in sun-dappled waters.
In keeping with Sue’s wishes there will be no funeral or visitation. In lieu of flowers, we would encourage friends to perform a random act of kindness in her memory.
