Michael Lawson
In loving memory of Michael Lawson who passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North….
Predeceased by his parents John and Julia (Kelly) Lawson. Beloved husband of MaryLou (Spencer) Lawson predeceased 2008. Loving brother of John (Ruth) of Bowmanville, Lois Old (Robert) both predeceased, Gene predeceased (Irma of Bracebridge) and Bob of Bracebridge. Lovingly remembered by the Spencer family; Carol and Mike O’Kane, Sheila and Ted Coe, Larry and Sally Spencer, Lynne and Dave Taylor, Barb and Dave Campbell and Jim Spencer (Chris predeceased). Cherished uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Born in Baysville July 11th, 1931. He attended Baysville Public School, Bracebridge High School and St. Michael’s College at the University of Toronto. Mike spent his career as an educator retiring as Principal of Lockerby Composite High School in 1988. He was a devoted parishioner of Christ the King. He was a life long learner, an avid volunteer and enjoyed opera, art, gardening, berry picking, dinner parties and his Friday afternoon bridge at St. Patrick’s. Mike had a gentle nature, dry sense of humour and quiet smile. And in the words of St. Timothy… “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
Resting at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury where friends may call from 4-8pm Friday, June 9th, 2017.
Funeral Mass at Church of Christ the King, 30 Beech Street, Sudbury on Saturday, June 10th, 2017 at 11am.
Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with burial of ashes at the Sudbury Roman Catholic Cemetery beside his wife.
