Peacefully, Wednesday, July 5th, 2017 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury.

Beloved wife of Mike Cholewa predeceased 1985. Loving mother of Peter Cholewa predeceased 2012 and Dorothy Smet. Cherished Babcia of Michaela and Joshua. Dear daughter of Stanislaw and Weronika Franczek predeceased. Dear sister of Janina Godlewska (husband Jan predeceased). Special aunt to Piotr and Dorota. Sadly missed by her extended family in Boston.

Maria was born and raised in Kamien, Poland, she moved to Canada in 1959 settling in Sudbury. She had been a Polish Saturday School Teacher for many years. She had been an active member of the Polish Club. A devout Roman Catholic, she faithfully attended St. Casimir’s Church. She had worked for the Sudbury Separate School Board. She was an avid reader and gardener. She spent many times at her camp on Kukagami Lake.

Interment in the family plot at Park Lawn Cemetery.
