Michael Providence
In Loving Memory of Michael “Mike” Providence Sr. A.K.A Kelvin Teesdale, 73 years, husband of Rosanne Providence, passed away suddenly Tuesday, August 1st 2017 at his residence in Sudbury.
Husband of Rosanne (nee Larabie) for 27 years. Father of Dianne Cunningham and Debra Honore (mother June), Rhonda Lamothe and Lisa Providence (mother Rita), Pamela Blacklock, Delena Providence and Michael Providence Jr. (mother Rosanne). Grandfather of Michael and Michelle Cunningham, Allison Roberts, Ammiel and Alina Honore, Krysta Lamothe, Adriane and Bradley Blacklock, Soleil Pitawanakwat and Norah Providence. Life-long friend and adopted brother of Vick Puliah. Predeceased by his parents and siblings Frank and Glenda, and his daughter Lisa Providence.
Born November, 3rd 1943 in Princess Town, Trinidad and Tobago. He was the son of the late Hector Teesdale and Christiana Providence. After Graduating from a trade school in Trinidad he came to Canada at the age of 19. He worked for INCO as a welder and maintenance mechanic for 24 years. As an entrepreneur he had built and owned several businesses from a moving and taxi companies to a driveway sealing company he named Black Toppers. He had a unique sense of humour. He had owned rentals in Sudbury and it was known around town that if you were a foreigner and needed a place to stay you could seek out black Mike and he would help you out.
There will be no service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. His ashes will be brought back home to Trinidad and spread into the ocean as per his final wishes. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
