Passed away peacefully after a brief illness at Health Sciences North
on Tuesday, August 8th, 2017
Reunited with her beloved husband of over 54 years Robert “Bob” Blake (predeceased January 2017). Loving mother of Lynn Burns (husband Claude). Proud Nanni of Scott and Bayly Burns. Predeceased by her mother Mary Furlotte (nee Guitard) and brothers Murray, Eldon & Norman Furlotte. Survived by her sister Ruby Jones (Ken). She will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
Marina was born in Jacquet River, New Brunswick on June 28th, 1939. She loved being home on the East Coast with her family and friends, listening to music, playing guitars and dancing. Her home was always open. She loved having a glass of wine and great conversation with family and friends whenever they stopped by.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Linda Hamel for showing so much kindness to mom throughout her, and Bob’s illness, and continuing to show love and support her family. Also thank you to the nurses and doctors at Health Sciences North (8th floor North Tower), for their care and compassion.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church (39 Walford Road, Sudbury) on Friday, August 11th, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Friends may gather at the church after 9:30 a.m. on Friday. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with entombment alongside her husband Bob in St. Stanislaus Cemetery Friday at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
