Obituary for Gertey Mary Delorme (St. Jacques)

In loving memory of Gertey Mary Delorme who passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18th, 2017 at Health Sciences North surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her parents Antoine and Blanche St.Jacques and by her husband Jack Delorme. Loving mother of Carol, Michael (predeceased) (Monica) and Patricia (predeceased) (Wink). Cherished Grandmere of Travis (Dana), Mark (Jaime), Shannon (Ray), and Michael (Robin). Great Grandmere of Marek, Olin, Kadence, Macisaak, Dominic, Seth, Albany Rose and Lily Mae. Dear sister of Albert, Johnny, Joe, Paul, Cecile, Leo (predeceased) and Margaret. Dear sister-in-law of Kathy, Barb, Theresa and Lawrence. Beloved Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered by her many dear friends.
Born and raised in Northern Ontario, Gertey spent the majority of her life in Levack and then Sudbury. She served in the army during World War II. She was the driver for the top brass in Toronto and worked in the post office in Ottawa. A passionate and active community member she donated her time as a Brownie and Guide Leader, volunteer at the Inner City Food Bank, was a founding member of the Bereavement Foundation and countless other charitable activities. Through her kindness and compassion she has touched many lives and left a positive mark on the community.
She attended St. Patrick’s Church and participated in many church functions and enjoyed the friendship of the congregation.
