Obituary for Kenneth "Marv" Marvin Streich

Kenneth "Marv" Marvin Streich
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth Marvin Streich. Peacefully at Health Sciences North on September 22, 2017 at the age of 83. He is again with his beloved Mary Louise (nee MacPherson). Loving father to Heather Lapierre, Connie Chevrette (Craig) and Scott Streich. Cherished Poppa of Shalena, Tessa, Katie, Olivia, Nicholas, Megan and Jenna. Marvin was born in Webbwood on June 5, 1935 to the late Robert and Merle Streich (nee Thom). Brother to Colin (predeceased) (Joan) and Aldene Kerr (predeceased) (Carl).
Marvin started work with the CPR in 1950 for approx. 4 years before moving to Southern Ontario and was among other things a student preacher. In 1962 Marvin started work for the Government of Ontario and worked in various positions until his retirement as a program supervisor in 1994 with 32 years of service. One of his many quips was ‘Lord, grant that we may always be right for Thou knowest we will never change our minds’ which was a Scot’s prayer.
Marvin was a member of AF and AM #527 Espanola Lodge (Past Master), Royal Arch Mason (Past Grand Superintendent), Royal and Select Masters, Scottish Rite, Historical Automobile of Canada and Old Car Buff. In retirement Marvin loved woodworking and driving his 1934 Mclaughlin Buick and 1955 Studabaker which he (with help) restored. Marvin also was an avid computer emailer until he was well into his 80’s. His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren and would always make sure hugs were given upon arrival and departure.
“Many people will walk in and out of your life but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart”
Interment in the Webbwood Protestant Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff at Meadowbrook Retirement Village, St. Joseph Villa and Health Sciences North for the care and compassion that was given to Marvin. In lieu of flowers donations to the ALS Society would be appreciated.

Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street.

(Friends may call 6-8 P.M. Wednesday October 11, 2017 and after 10 A.M. Thursday October 12, 2017.)
with a Masonic service 7:00 P.M. Wednesday under the auspices of the Espanola Lodge #527 AF&AM.

Funeral service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel Thursday October 12 at 11 A.M.
