It is with great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of Rejean “Peter” Pitre while he was surrounded by friends and family. Peter is survived by his wife Valorie Pitre (nee Trites) and his loving daughters Dr. Mindy Pitre (husband Chris Ryall) and Dr. Lacey Pitre (husband Steven Evans). He will be dearly missed by his only granddaughter Lillian Pitre-Ryall and of course by his loyal canine companion Sammy.

He was a loving brother to Annabelle, Harvey (Sharon), David (Susan), Gaetan (Rachelle), and Clarence (Penelope). Dear brother-in-law to Robert (Lynne), Norman (Karen), Darlene (David), and Wendy.

Dear uncle to Monique Tremblay, Mike Dinel, Joanne Dinel, Sean Pitre, Chistopher Pitre, Guy Pitre, Lisa Pitre, Jordan Trites, Carly Trites, Taylor Seguin, Alexandra Moodie, Brandon Trites, and Cody Trites.

Along with his partner and wife Valorie, he was a lifelong business owner but his fondest memories occurred as the owner of the Sears Depot in the Hanmer Valley Shopping Centre where he worked along with his daughters. He was an active member of the Monte Vista Golf Club and he would want us to include here that he was a ‘damn good golfer’.

He will be missed by his many friends including his fellow proprietors at the Hanmer Valley shopping centre and his ‘golf-buddies’.

Above all things, Peter loved to see his daughters happy and to dance with his wife as often as possible - and he did this until the very end.

In keeping with his wishes a celebration of life will be held at the Lougheed Funeral Home – Hanmer/Capreol Chapel (4605 Michelle Drive, Hanmer) on Friday, September 29th, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.

In lieu of flowers – donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada or the local Sudbury SPCA would be appreciated.
