Thursday November 2nd, 2017 at Health Sciences North
Loving husband of Margaret “Marg” (nee Mac Vittie) Konopelky. Survived by son David (Cheryle). Cherished grandfather of Kyle. Dear son of Michael and Laurette Konopelky both predeceased. Dear brother of Robert (Maureen), Lauranne (David McIntyre), Michael (Joanne), Dianne (Richard MacDonald) and Timothy (Wendy). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Cochrane, Roger spent 32 years with the Rainbow District DSB. He was a dedicated teacher who was devoted to his students and kept tutoring into his retirement. He believed deeply in young people and wanted them to reach higher and to meet their potential. Roger had tremendous patience when dealing with young people. Roger was a sports fanatic, both playing and watching. He was very competitive, and always up for a challenge, be it verbal or physical. Roger was a person who loved helping others. He gave very useful advice. He will be especially remembered for his kind and giving heart. The family would like to thank the staff at Health Sciences North in the ICU and the Heart and Stroke Units for their great care.
