Mildred Isobel Buchanan, 85, of Sudbury, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2017 at the Health Sciences North in Sudbury.
Loving wife of Malcom(Speedy) Buchanan (pre-deceased). Beloved mother of Candice Desjardins (Michael pre-deceased) and Cynthia Buchanan. Proud grandmother of Jarred Desjardins, Ryan Desjardins (Rebecca Desjardins) and Courtney Desjardins (Wanderlan De Oliveira). Enjoyed a special relationship a.k.a grandmudder with Sophie Desjardins and Landon De Oliveira. Beloved sister of Audrey Leis (Henry pre-deceased), Irene Manveiler (Walter pre-deceased), Dorothy Sturtevant (Jess pre-deceased), Mary Vollrath (pre-deceased) (Robert), Beverly Grabowecky (Stanley). Survived by sister-in-law Alice Condie (Delbert) and Shirley Clark (Ivan pre-deceased). Will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mildred grew up on the family farm in Hudson, Manitoba and spent many years in Kapuskasing and Sudbury. She enjoyed long walks, her volunteer work and was an active member of the St. Stephens on the Hill. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family, friends.
Internment to be held on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Civic Cemetery @ 2pm. Those wishing to may make a memorial donation to the Alzheimer Society.
