Beloved husband of Alice Tunney (nee Reading) predeceased 2004. Loving father of Linda Henry, Dale Murphy (Bob), Lorraine McWatty (Steven), and Suzie O’Neill (James). Cherished Papa of Dr. Kate Henry, Nathan Henry, Dr. Rebecca Kayser, Aeron Duffy, Rachel Bicchierai, Jessica Graham, Jonathan Murphy, Darren McWatty, Emma McWatty, and Jessie-Lynn McWatty, 12 great grandchildren, and missed by dear friend John Henry. Dear brother of Harold predeceased (Lucille Rautianen) and missed by many nieces and nephews.
Born in Copper Cliff, Russell was an airframe mechanic for the Air Force during World War II, stationed at times in Alberta, Winnipeg, and Weyburn, Saskatchewan, having served for 3 years. Russell loved to travel, making his way through Western Canada when on leave, and visiting the East Coast after the war. Russell worked at INCO in the Process Technology Lab, retiring in 1984 as Senior Chemist. Russell was a member of the Copper Cliff Legion Branch 224, and a lifetime member of Copper Cliff United Church. He was a member of the Algonquin Lodge 536. Russell enjoyed spending his summers at the camp on Trout Lake, which he built in 1955. In younger days, he enjoyed playing hockey and basketball, and later, golfing and playing crib.

Saturday, May 12th, 2018 at 11am.
Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium, with interment in the family plot at the Park Lawn Cemetery.
