Beloved wife of Denis Portelance. Loving mother of Chanelle (Jeff Middaugh) and Joel (Tanya Vansantvoort). Cherished grandmother of Caleb, Maève, Cole and Kane. Special foster mother of Kayden. Dear daughter of Gerry predeceased and Sally Savard. Dear sister of Michel (Pauline), Marc (Chantal predeceased) and Roxanne. Dear daughter in-law of Rita Portelance. Sadly missed by nieces, nephews, and the Portelance family.
Louise had a passion for politics serving as a councillor and a Deputy Mayor in Valley East and Sudbury and was always active in the Liberal Party.
She enjoyed volunteering and was active on many community committees including being a founding volunteer with palliative care. Louise was proud and honoured to be a foster mother for the past 4 years.
A Memorial Mass will be held
at Ste. Marguerite D’Youville Church
Val Therese, Saturday January 6th, 2018
at 11 A.M.
(Friends may gather at the church after 10:30 A.M. Saturday)
A Celebration of Life will be held following the mass at the Caruso Club (upstairs) from 1pm-4pm with words of remembrance at 2pm.
Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
Donations to the Down Syndrome Association of Sudbury or Wild at Heart would be appreciated.
