Beloved husband of Claire Chabot (nee Laframboise) predeceased March 1st, 2017. Loving father of Monique Dunlop (husband James), Nicole Rheault (husband Gary), Claude Chabot (wife Lora), and Gisele Sheehan (husband Phil). Cherished grandfather of ten grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Dear son of Joseph and Helen (nee Evans) Chabot both predeceased. Loving brother of Helen Barkley (William predeceased), Donald Chabot (Yolande predeceased) and predeceased by Vera Uren (James), Owen Chabot, Graham Chabot, Ronald Chabot (Vera), Cecil Chabot (Alice), Dorothy Nowlan (George), Richard Chabot (Mary), and Desmond Chabot (Mary). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Dan was born and raised in Coniston. He married Claire (Laframboise) in 1954 in Warren. He was a miner at Creighton Mine, retiring from INCO in 1983 with 38 years service. A proud Canadian, he served in the Royal Canadian Air Force. He was an active and longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #76, where he served in executive positions, colour party, and organized special events. Dan was a member of the Forresters for 40 years. He was a member of Club 111. He enjoyed travelling, hunting, and fishing. Dan spent many happy times at the camp. He was a devout Roman Catholic, attending Holy Redeemer Church, where he actively participated in parish ministries and activities. Dan was devoted to his loving family. He was a true patriarch, whose wisdom and personality inspired all who knew him.

Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 at 1pm.
A memorial service will be held at 7:30pm Monday under the auspices of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #76, Sudbury.

Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Civic Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #76 Poppy Fund or charity of your choice would be appreciated, as would a blood donation to Canadian Blood Services, as Dan was a faithful donor all his life.
