Robert Jules "Rob" DuMoulin
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Robert Jules DuMoulin surrounded by his family at home in Garson on March 28th, 2018 at the age of 61. Rob waged a private battle with cancer for 4 years, remaining ever hopeful and courageous till the very end. Rob is the son of Tim (predeceased) and Gail DuMoulin of North Bay. Dear brother of Louise Dixon (Charles) of Kitchener. Sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Lovingly remembered by the Ranger family. Rob was born in North Bay, where he attended Chippewa High School and later graduated with a business degree from Canadore College. His business career started with the Royal Bank of Canada and later he joined Xerox Canada to eventually become general manager for Northern Ontario. Rob founded Techknowledgy Solutions in 1996 then later added an Office Pro dealership. He also founded Temiskaming Office Pro in 2012. Rob was devoted to protecting and caring for his family, always looking for new and interesting adventures for the family explore and enjoy. He loved his cottage on Marten Lake in Marten River where together with his wife of 34 years Lise raised their son Harrison. He enjoyed his fish and ski boat and many hours on ATV excursions in Marten River. He also took part in many canoe trips from the Mattawa River to the mighty Nahanni. Rob loved taking short haul trips on his latest ride of choice, an Indian Chief Dark Horse motorcycle, always returning home with entertaining stories. He adored his Newfoundlands dogs Ruby-Bear and Savannah-Ruby and spent many hours training and spoiling both his girls. He will be missed. “What matters is not the destination or the journey, it’s who you travel with”.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to NEWF FRIENDS Newfoundland Dog Rescue giving Newfoundland dogs in need of medical attention and finding loving homes. As per Rob’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Cremation Services entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at Science North's Ramsey Room, 100 Ramsey Lake Rd., Sudbury where friends may gather from 1-4pm with words of remembrance at 2pm and the celebration will end downstairs with the Maison McCulloch Hospice butterfly release at 4pm. Rob’s remains will then be laid to rest at All Saints Mausoleum in North Bay. The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Butler and Sarah with the Clinical Trial Team at Princess Margaret Hospital, Dr. Cano and Lindsay with the Northern Cancer Research Center and Jennifer and Chris with Bayshore Nursing.
