Jack was born on December 3rd, 1920 to Reuben and Beatrice Phillips in Biscotasing. He was one of seven children. Jack and his family resided in Copper Cliff their entire lives. On August 30th, 1941 he married Elvi Riutta and they shared sixty loving years together. Family and friends will remember them skating hand-in-hand many times at Stanley Stadium, a reflection of the love they had for each other.

Jack worked for INCO for 42 dedicated years in the Safety Department. Outside of work, he served as a trainer for the Copper Cliff Minor Hockey “AA” teams for many years. He also enjoyed crafts such as macramé and rug hooking. Family members cherish his handiwork in their homes.

Jack was a devoted and loving family man. He looked forward to and enjoyed his times with his children and grandchildren, especially at the cottage on Lake Penage. Everyone will remember Jack as an avid cribbage player, even playing into his later years.

A very special thank you to the staff at the Walford on the Park, where Jack resided for the past seven years. Also a special thank you to the nursing staff on the 5th Floor, South Tower and the 4th Floor, North Tower Palliative Unit at Health Sciences North for their excellent care.
