Obituary for Rose Benoit (Boote)

In Loving Memory of Rose Elsie Benoit (nee Boote). Born October 8th, 1923 in Montreal, Quebec. Passed away April 15th, 2018 at Health Sciences North, Sudbury.

Beloved daughter of Walter Boote and Maude Hill, she lived in Montreal. In 1945, she moved to Thunder Bay, later moving to Sudbury in 1984. Loving sister to Vera Symons (William), Jesse Symons (George), and Charles, all predeceased.

Rose was educated in Montreal and was a graduate of the Montreal Business College. From 1941 - 1945, Rose worked in the Federal Government Regional Military Office; and from 1956 - 1982 for the Ontario Government Ministry of Correctional Services - Probation/Parole Branch as Administrative Secretary.

Rose married John Anthony Benoit, who survives her, on December 19th, 1980 in Thunder Bay, Ontario. She leaves many nieces and nephews and fellow sisters of the Catholic Women’s League in St. Kevin’s Parish in Val Therese. In 1978, Rose was the recipient of the Queen’s 25th Anniversary Medal for Community Service in Thunder Bay. Rose beautified her world with gardening, plants, and flowers, and watched all these colours in her life. She loved music, played the piano, and had a great repertoire of musical lyrics. All animals were her friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the SPCA or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.
