Jeffrey Fairbrother
It is with great sadness that we the children of Jeffrey James Fairbrother announce his peaceful passing on April 22, 2018 at the age of 94 years.
Loving husband of Loretta Fairbrother (nee Fortin) predeceased, to whom he spoke to daily and boasted “what a beauty she was” and how “she saved my life”.
Our father will be lovingly remembered by his children Catherine DeMarco (Steve), Elizabeth Leson (Bob) and Christopher Fairbrother; daughters Margaret Morgan (Chris) of Melbourne, Australia and Jennifer in Alberta.
His legacy shall continue on in his much adored grandchildren Jeffrey, Christian (Jessica) and Emily DeMarco, Alexandra and Lorinda Leson, Samuel and Jack Fairbrother; Claire, Anna and Bryony; and great-granddaughter Emilia DeMarco.
Forever and lovingly remembered by his brother Douglas Fairbrother (Avice), nephew and nieces Andrew Fairbrother (Carla), Jacqueline Smith (Peter), Lorinda Fairbrother and their extended families.
Dad was born January 15, 1924 in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire, UK to James and Doris Fairbrother, first born of two adored sons. He was a very proud veteran of WW2 having served for the British Royal Engineers for 5 years.
At the end of the war, Dad immigrated to Canada where he met and married our mother. Together, they created a family of 5), his passion taking us on countless trips coast-to-coast across Canada and the US. He had an amazing talent for speaking a half-dozen languages fluently, and a love and gift for music with his piano playing having entertained generations.
We would like to thank the front line staff at St. Joseph’s LTC who always cared for Dad compassionately and were all left with a story to remember.
A lifetime of amazing memories and now back with his beloved Loretta.
We love you Dad, now and forever.
