Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 at his residence with his loving wife at his side.

Beloved husband of Leonilde (nee Carbone) D’Ippolito. Loving father of Tommaso, (wife Catherine) and Franco (wife Anna Maria). Cherished grandfather of Sofia, Lucia, Cecilia and Erica. Dear son of Giovanni and Tommasina (nee Leonetti) D’Ippolito both predeceased. Ugo was the 10th born of 10, brothers & sisters (predeceased in Italy and USA) Salvatore, Ernesto, Teresa, Luigi, Fiorina, Constantino, Elvira, Eduardo and Elena. Son-in-law of Michele Carbone (Teresa Cundari) both predeceased and brother in-law to Giovanna Carpino predeceased (Fernando predeceased), Leo Carbone predeceased (Mary), and Maurizio Carbone (Julia). Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews in Canada, USA, and Italy.

Born in Serra Pedace, Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, he immigrated to Canada in 1960 to marry Leonilde Carbone on April 25, 1960 at Holy Trinity Church, Sudbury. Ugo was a carpenter and a fine cabinet maker who worked at both Carrington’s and Evans Lumber, with a career spanning 30+ years. Notable fine works were the cabinetry for the INCO offices in Scotia Bank tower and the finish woodwork at Science North, both in Sudbury.
Not to mention all the varied pieces of furniture he hand-crafted for family and friends over the years. Ugo was a hardworking man who strived to make a better life for his family and give his sons every opportunity for advancement. He was our working class hero.
