Obituary for Adelia Castellan (Goegan)

Adelia Castellan (Goegan)
In
Loving Memory
of
Adelia Castellan

88 years

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on
Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Sunnybrook Hospital in Toronto.

Beloved wife of 55 years to Corrado Castellan. Loving mother of Macri
(Andre L Morissette), Vania, predeceased (Damian Blackburn) and David Castellan (Cynthia Leung). Cherished grandmother of Philippe (Julie), Christian, Brendan and Kathleen and great grandmother to Alexis. Predeceased by her parents Maria and Vincenzo Goegan and siblings Piero, Rosina, Don Saverio, Suora Marta, Tarcisio and Gina. Survived by Luigi of Coniston and Anna of Castello di Godego. She will be greatly missed by family and friends in Sudbury, St Catharines, and Italy.

Adelia was born in Castello di Godego,Treviso, Italy on May 5th, 1930. In 1953 she emigrated to Canada and married Corrado Castellan from the same hometown. Together they settled at Corrado’s suggestion close to the Caruso Club, which would become the center of a vibrant Italian community. In addition to raising her family, she worked as a seamstress as well as at the Caruso Club in many capacities. By far her favourite activity was dreaming up hilarious skits and scenarios with her friends, which were later presented as plays and entertainment to a delighted Caruso Club audience.

The family would like to thank our cousins particularly Susan Nosich, Antoinette Berardi, Lauretta Zanette and Nadia Rivard for their extraordinary care and love. We also wish to mention the staff at Amberwood Suites in Sudbury and Villa Colombo in Toronto for their care and compassion.
Her great sense of humour will live on.
