Obituary for Elmer James Guse

In Loving Memory of
Elmer James Guse
Born Saturday, June 2nd, 1934.
Passed away Thursday, May 10th, 2018 at his residence, with loving family at his side.

Beloved husband of 57 years to Donna Guse (nee Tulloch). Loving father of Tom Guse (Anita Koskiniemi), Allan Guse (Riitta Koskiniemi), Carolyn Ruby (Tim), Dan Guse (Belinda Blanchard), and Nancy Charbonneau (Robin). Cherished grandfather of Matt Guse (Mercedes), Krista Charlebois (Joey), Kyle Guse, Sarah White (Calvin), Amy Pilbacka (Rylan), Caitlin Guse, Leah Poirier (Dan), Olivia Loseth (Larsson), Emily Ruby, Brett Guse, Owen Guse, Tara Guse, Cameron Charbonneau, Lyndsay Charbonneau, Madison Charbonneau, and great grandchildren Jacob Pilbacka, Ian Pilbacka, Ava Guse, and Evelyn Poirier. Dear son of William and Olive (Peever) Guse both predeceased. Dear brother of Melvin Guse (Joan), Rhona Day (William), Gordon Guse (Elaine), Everett Guse predeceased, Marjorie Barber (Norm), Joan Sword (Bertil), Jim Guse (Heather), and Grace Johnston (John). Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Elmer worked for Falconbridge Nickel Mine for 37 years, and also owned a mining consulting business (Guse Mechanical Services) for 10 years. He enjoyed hunting and the outdoors, and he and Donna enjoyed spending summers at their cottage on Manitoulin Island. Elmer based his life on the LORD Jesus Christ, and we are confident in knowing that he is enjoying the presence of Jesus for the rest of eternity.

Jesus said “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6).

Thank you to all who helped care for Elmer at home and for the love and support from his church family at Larchwood Bible Chapel.

Donations will be gratefully received by Camp Aush-Bik-Koong Bible Camp.
