Obituary for Michelina Isabella-Valenzi (Isabella-Valenzi)

In Loving Memory of
“Nonna” Michelina Isabella-Valenzi
92 years

Peacefully, May 11, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Villa, Sudbury with her loving family at her side.

Beloved wife of Letterino Isabella-Valenzi married 72 years. Loving mother of Giovanna “Jane” Folino (Francesco) and Concetta “Connie” Isabella-Valenzi (Rocca). Cherished Nonna of Anthony (Marissa), Vittorio (Carol), Claudia (Nicholas), Tina (Cory), Michela Jennifer, and Peter Justin “P.J.” and Bis-Nonna to Nicolo, Isla, Xavier, Talen, Cristiana, Eloise, Romeo and Jackz.

Dear daughter of Felice Isabella-Valenzi and Giovanna Raso both predeceased. Dear sister of Bruno Isabella-Valenzi, Giuseppina Cuda (Agostino), Pasquale Isabella-Valenzi (Francesca), Concetta Isabella-Valenzi (Alberto), Giovanni Isabella-Valenzi, and Salvatore Isabella-Valenzi all predeceased. Survived by her sisters-in-law Giovanna Rocca of Italy and Angelina Isabella-Valenzi of Argentina. Sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.

Michelina came to Canada for a better life but her heart was always in Italy. She made a beautiful life here and helped so many others who came from Italy to do the same. She was full of life and love, and had a quick wit that always kept everyone laughing. She opened her home to everyone and always made sure you were well fed. Nonna always asked “hai mangiato?”, and was famous for her homemade pizza, pasta and sponge cake. She enjoyed gardening, picking blueberries and mushrooms, cooking, crocheting, knitting, eating, and loved travelling to visit family in Italy, Argentina, and the USA.

She was a wonderful woman who left a legacy of love to all who knew her.

Our sincerest thank you to all those at St. Joseph’s Villa who loved Michelina and took great care of her.
