Obituary for Ines Aneise Munari (Virtoli)

Ines Aneise Munari (Virtoli)
It is with heavy hearts the family announces the unexpected passing of
Ines Aneise (Virtoli) Munari
73 years
Friday, May 18th, 2018 at her home.

Beloved wife of Luigi Munari (predeceased August 13, 2002). Dear daughter of Luigi and Guglielmina (Panizzon) Virtoli of Italy, both predeceased. Devoted and amazing loving mother of Francesco (Roxanne), Rosa (Ken Wheaton), Gianni (Lynn), and Luisa (Jason Maloney). Cherished Nonna to Christopher, Kaitlyn, Matteo, Nico, Ken Luigi, and Gianni. Dear sister of Lina (Antonio Pace), Rudolfo predeceased (Evana), and predeceased by Doniello and Evaniello. Ines is survived by her brother in law Mario Munari of Sudbury and sadly missed by all her nephews and nieces.

Ines was born in Valdagno, Vicenza, Italia, on April 18th, 1945. In Italy she studied and earned her seamstress diploma and after working for a very brief period, she travelled to Sudbury, Ontario, to marry her soul-mate, Luigi. On November 9, 1968, they were wed and started their lives together in Canada. Ines was immensely proud of her home and garden and was often seen shoveling the snow, cutting the grass, tending the flowers, and feeding the chipmunks. She enjoyed spending time with her family and closest friends, talking with them on the phone, and sharing coffee, shopping, and excursions out. Nobody could ignore her contagious laugh. Her love of animals throughout her life included her two dogs (Lupo and Lupa), and three cats (Mushi, Kayla, and Tiger) who she missed dearly, and she always had a soft spot for the stray animals of the neighbourhood. Ines was famous for her home-made gnocchi, spaghetti, condimento, and lasagna, which was featured at all family functions. As a professional seamstress, there was always a high demand for pants to be hemmed and children’s clothes to be patched. Ines had a passion for music and Italian culture, with Pavarotti and Domenico Modugno commonly resonating throughout the house.

Ines will always be remembered for her genuine smile, her loving heart, and her kind generosity, and she always opened her doors to everyone and no one ever left hungry. She had a strong faith in God and was a devoted member of St. Clements and Our Lady of Hope Parishes for 50 years and lived by example every day of her life, which she passed on to her children.

Ines was proud to be a devoted wife and loving mother, but was most proud of all her grandchildren, to whom she often laid claim. “They are all mine,” she used to say, and they all spent time at Nonna’s house, eating spaghetti, watching cartoons, sleeping over, and playing hide and seek.

Ines gave us extraordinary love and although our hearts are filled with the love she gave us, we have a devastating void in our lives and she will forever be missed by everyone she touched. We take comfort in knowing she is finally with God and reunited with Luigi, whom she has been dearly missing.

In lieu of flowers, donations received will be kept in trust for all her grandchildren.
