who passed away peacefully on
Sunday, July 22nd, 2018 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice
with her daughter Caroline at her side

Joyce was born in Cobalt, Ontario on February 21st, 1936. She was the daughter of Roger & Josephine Gareau (nee Gannon) both predeceased. Joyce is the proud mother of her 5 children, Caroline Grist of Sudbury, David Cormier (Bonnie Moustado) of Timmins, Kenneth Grist (Cathy Onotski) of Oxbow, Saskatchewan, James Grist (Amy Mousseau) of Sudbury and Fern Cormier (Glen Demone) of Sudbury. She will be sadly missed by her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joyce leaves behind sisters Claudette McMillan (Gord) of Halifax and Genevieve Mikkola (Jack) of Elliot Lake. She is predeceased by her brother Reginald Gareau & sisters Joanne O’Neill, Inez Philion and Suzanne Bilodeau. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Joyce fought her illness with grace, dignity and a positive outlook. She will be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched.

The family would like to thank the caring staff at Maison McCulloch Hospice for taking such good care of Joyce and her family.

At Joyce’s request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with entombment in the Civic Mausoleum. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation – Cancer Centre or Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Sudbury Park Lawn Cremation Service.
