In loving memory of Eva Louise Neufeld who passed away on Friday July 27th, 2018 at Health Sciences North after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 39. Beloved wife of Karl Muttenthaler and devoted Mom of Josef and Lena. Daughter of Arthur and Susanne Neufeld. Sister of Stephan (Amanda) of Ottawa and Thomas (Angie) of Kingsville.

Eva was a rhythmic gymnast as a child who channeled her energies into her education, receiving her PhD from the University of Waterloo in 2013. A tireless researcher and advocate of the elderly and mental health, Eva was also a champion of suicide prevention, sitting on the boards of the Waterloo Region Suicide Prevention Council and the North East Suicide Prevention Network. Her devoted efforts in these areas have and will continue to positively impact countless lives.

As an academic, Eva was held in high regard by her colleagues all around the world. An Associate Fellow of interRAI and a Senior Researcher with the Centre for Rural and Northern Health Research at Laurentian University, her drive and determination were clearly evident in the volume and breadth of her work and volunteer efforts.

Her strength, bravery and sense of humour were also on display during her last few days. An aspiring vegetarian and advocate of a healthy lifestyle, she proudly announced her wishes for her Celebration of Life; a pig roast.

Many special thanks to the BMT team at the Ottawa Hospital and to the many nurses and doctors here at HSN. Your combined efforts allowed our beautiful Eva to remain with us for as long as she was able. Our thanks also to the wonderful staff at Lougheed's for their professionalism and kindness.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation in her name. Details of her Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.
