Obituary for George Hoag

In loving memory of George Alfred Hoag, 88 years of Capreol. Saturday, August 4th, 2018 at Health Sciences North.

Loving father of Rick (Kathy) of Capreol, Neil (Sheila) of Burlington, and Brenda (Jim Trayner) of Capreol. Cherished Grandpa and Poppa of Laurie (Robin), Trevor (Stephanie), Mallory (Holly), Russell, Grant, and Kirk (Josee). Loving great grandpa to Sophie and Tessa and step-great-grandfather to Timothy. Predeceased by his wife Kaarina (Niemi) of 57 years, parents William Russel and Lucy (Young), and sister Dorothy Lahti. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. He was born in Sudbury and was a lifelong resident of the Town of Capreol. George was a brakeman and conductor for the CNR for 37 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, Toronto Blue Jays fan, blueberry picker, scratch ticket enthusiast, and volunteer at the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre.
