Obituary for Lauri Connor (Miller)

Fly high, Lauri!

She was hard to beat when it came to a game of “Name that Tune” and songs from the 70s. Now, our lovely Lauri is rocking the choir in a better place.
It’s with sadness we announce the passing of Lauri Connor (Miller) after a long and courageous battle with a number of health challenges.
Lauri is loved and missed terribly by her husband of more than 30 years, Kirby, by their faithful and affectionate dog, Penny, and by many friends and family. Her loved ones recall Lauri with fondness and many great memories of great times at the family camp on the West Arm of Nipissing. It was there we barbecued, played cards, sang songs, and enjoyed campfires and much love.
Kirby and family would like to express appreciation for the care and compassion shown through this difficult time by Dr. Kyle McKechnie at Health Sciences North and the ICU nurses, Sandra and Katie.
Lynne Descary, Caroline Behnke and the Shrigley family have also been huge supports, and Kirby wants to thank them and the many friends, colleagues and family members who have stepped up to offer condolences and strength.
Lauri loved The Eagles and their music, so we know she’d like this lyric: “High upon her own, the eagle flies alone. She is free.”
Friends will gather at Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home (233 Larch Street, Sudbury) on Saturday, October 6th at 1pm for a small service of remembrance.
