Obituary for Robert James Lemieux

In loving memory of Robert ʺBobʺ James Lemieux, 79 years, who passed away peacefully at Health Science North, Sudbury, October 6th, 2018, embraced by his loving family.

Bob was predeceased by his father Leo, his mother Exilia, his brother Jimmy, his sisters Aleen and Nola, brother-in-law, Ray Lamontagne, and his dearest and only son Denis. He leaves here on earth to carry on his legacy of love, committment, devotion and generosity; his devoted and adoring wife Marie (née Lariviere), beloved sister Liliane Lemieux, his ever loving and loyal daughters Suzanne and Ginette, his treasured grandchildren Keana, Dominik and Mattia. He also leaves behind his sisters & brothers-in-law (Isabelle & Jim Cook, Lorette & Joe Woodliffe, Marie-Claire and Harley Allman, Sister Marguerite Lariviere s.c.o., Gertrude Lariviere (Alexis deceased), Beverly Lariviere (Julien deceased), Ovila & Rita Lariviere (deceased), his lifelong dear friends and so many loved nieces and nephews whom he shared countless special times with. He will also be missed by his cousins, Sister Rachelle Watier, s.c.o. and Lorraine Watier.

Having owned and operated Barrydowne Automobiles Ltd. operating as City Motors for 45 plus years, he formed many business relationships which he respected and enjoyed during these entrepreneurial years.

Bob could have been a priest (a spiritual man), a judge (fair to no end), an engineer (analyser/thinker), a teacher/mentor (patiently imparting knowledge and skills)… but his true calling was to be a devoted husband & father, grandfather, business man, ‘ Such a great guy! ‘ as we heard inumerable times. Dad loved music, played guitar and sang sharing his passions with his family. And when he was not using his talent and expertise buying, selling and fixing cars, Grandpa was enjoying his time at the Lake Wahnapitae home, gardening, landscaping and forever tinkering with something.

There is a celebration of life at St.Dominique Church, 1241 Diane Street, Sudbury, Ontario, on Saturday, October 13th, 2018 at 11:00 AM followed by a gathering at the same location. Friends & family will be greeted starting at 10 AM at the Church entrance.
Donations in Bob’s memory can be made to CHAMPS a division of War Amps or Health Sciences North Foundation - CVT/ICU. Arrangements entrusted to Park Lawn Cremation Services.
