Ralph Edward Young

Ralph passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his wife Margaret (Mishibinijima) of 33 years, daughters Vanessa (Atikameksheng), Naomi (Wiikwemkoong), his son Randy and Paula (Wiikwemkoong), his mom Mildred (Atikameksheng), his siblings Daniel (predeceased), Ronnie (Atikameksheng), Lori (Atikameksheng), Faron (predeceased) and Suzanne (Sudbury) his in-laws Joe Peter and Marjorie (predeceased), brothers in law Kenny (predeceased), Ronnie (predeceased), Robert, and Greg (Sheri).

Ralph’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren Somayah and Rory.

He had a very special relationship with his Uncle Ken and Auntie Gail and his grandmother Mimi (predeceased). He is survived by many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was a proud godfather of Belinda Nebenionquit, Mary Mishbinijiima and Deanna Nebenionquit.

Ralph was employed with Atikameksheng Anishnawbek as an Asset Manager. He loved his job and the community he worked for. He was a positive role model. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, hunting, working in the bush and spending time at his camp. He was a jack of all trades and liked working on vehicles. If he didn’t know how to fix something he would figure it out by searching YouTube. His hobbies included playing Texas Hold’em at various casinos, woodworking, watching hockey, football, and UFC. Ralph was a supportive family man who loved spending time with his family and friends, and he had a great sense of humour. He enjoyed organizing family events such as fishing derbies, Texas Hold’em tournaments, or any reason for a party.

Visitation will be Monday, November 5, 2018 starting at 2pm and Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Community Centre. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 7th, 2018 at 1pm. Interment at Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Cemetery and a feast will follow at the Atikmeksheng Anishnawbek Community Centre.
