June Martin (nee Galipeau)
June 24th, 1936 - November 20th, 2018

It is with tremendous sadness that we are announcing June’s passing on November 20th, 2018. Loving Mom to Susan Eerola (husband Ben), Dennis Martin (wife Shelley), and David Martin. Cherished Grammy to Teagan Eerola-Breau (husband Eric Breau), and Logan Eerola (wife Stephannie Richardson Eerola). GG to Hudson Eerola and Dax Breau. Loving Mom to her spoiled fur baby Pandy. Predeceased by her husband of almost 60 years, Maurice Martin; her parents Aime and Ethel Galipeau; and her brothers, Larry Galipeau (wife Elsie) and Willy Galipeau (wife Eileen). Also left to mourn are many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many good friends that she made throughout her life journey.

June loved singing and sang in choirs all her life, most recently at Trinity United Church in Lively. She enjoyed travelling, reading, flower gardening, bird watching, gospel music, baking, search-a-words, colouring, needlepoint, her Alaska shows, her soap opera, Elvis Presley, and all things Christmas. She was known for her great organizational skills. Anyone who knew her could attest to her wonderful sense of humour, kindness, and her love for her family and friends. June worked retail most of her working days, including Metropolitan Store, Stedman’s in Lively, and K-Mart in the children’s wear department, until her retirement. After their retirement, some of her happiest moments were spent with Maurice at their Manitoulin Island home, which they built from the ground up. They were fortunate enough to pursue all of the hobbies that interested them during this time.

In June’s memory, she would have appreciated donations to Trinity United Church in Lively, Maison McCulloch Hospice or Pet Save Lively. The family would like to thank Reverend Kathy Dahmer for going above and beyond her duties and truly being a special friend to June.

A celebration of life will be held at Trinity United Church in Lively, on Saturday, December 1st, 2018 at 4pm. Reception to follow. (Friends may gather at the church after 3:45pm Saturday.)

Remembering is easy, I do it every day. Missing you is the heartache that never goes away.
