Obituary for Deva Uguccioni (Clara)
In loving memory of Deva Uguccioni (nee Clara) 86 years.
On August 17th, 2019 at Pioneer Manor. Beloved wife of the late Donald Uguccioni. Loving mother of Paul (wife Mary), Robert (wife Karen) and Mark predeceased. Sadly missed by daughter in law Vicky and her husband Shawn. Dear sister of Giovanni (Marina), Inez (Gino), Leah (Andy) and Adelia (John) all predeceased. Survived by dear sister-in-law Leonide (Tede) Merritt (Pat predeceased). Loving grandmother of Krista (Rory), Melany (Michael), PJ (Jade), Nicholas, Shane, Rachel, and Elizabeth. Great grandmother to Blake, Jacob, Paityn, Liam, and Freya. Loved by numerous nieces and nephews. Deva was competitive and athletic; played baseball as a youth and was an avid bowler winning many trophies in her day; and loved to win at cards. Mom worked at the Royal Bank, Eaton’s and best of all with Dad at the first pizza restaurant in Sudbury, known as Don’s Pizza. She was a great pasta maker, serving up homemade macaroni, ravioli, and lasagna to name a few. Mom was a kind and gentle person who would do anything to please her family and help other people. She was a longtime member of Christ the King and served many years on the Catholic Women’s League. Our appreciation goes to the wonderful staff at the Lodge in Pioneer Manor for providing great care to mom during her residence. Donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated. Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home at 252 Regent St. at Hazel Street, Sudbury. Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Monday with parish prayers at 3pm Monday. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church, 30 Beech Street, Sudbury, Tuesday, August 20th, 2019 at 10am. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
