Obituary for Clara Phoebe Aubrey (Strickland)
In loving memory of Clara Phoebe Aubrey (nee Strickland) who passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 19th, 2019 at Health Sciences North at the age of 85. Beloved wife of John Aubrey predeceased 2012. Loving mother of Lorraine (Rick Hurley) of Worthington, Missouri, Dean of Naughton and Tammy (Steve Gresko) of South Porcupine. Cherished grandmother of John (Rebecca), Shawna, Kayla, Mike and Mitch and great grandchildren Cameron, Cooper, Cheyenne and Dean. Predeceased by her parents John and Elsie Strickland. Dear sister to Henry deceased (Lillian of Kingston), Lillian (Gordon McNeil) both deceased, Lloyd deceased, Anita (Leonard Heins) of Eganville, Freda (Boner Kram deceased) of Kitchener, Gladys of Kitchener and Leonard deceased. Missed by many nieces and nephews.
Clara was born in Neil’s Harbour, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia where she married the love her life, John, on December 28th, 1956. They moved to Ontario where they raised their family. She lived for the outdoors like any true Cape Bretoner loving fishing, hunting and camping and was an avid card player.
Resting at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury where friends may gather after 11am Wednesday, October 23rd, 2019. Funeral service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel Wednesday at 1pm. Interment at the Water Cemetery.
