Obituary for Yvonne Brabant (Prud'Homme)

BRABANT, Yvonne - It is with broken hearts and great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our wonderful mother Yvonne Brabant (Prud’homme) on Thursday, December 6th, 2018 at the age of 87. Today our family lost its most glorious angel.

Beloved wife of Léo Brabant predeceased 1994. Loving mother of Yvon Brabant (Judi), Lee Albert (Don) and Colette Ilnitski (Dennis). Predeceased by son in law Gilles Albert. Cherished grandmother of Paul (Meredith), Sean (Callie), Lisa (Andrew), Natalie (Aaron), Stephanie (Curtis), Sarah and great grandchildren Owen, Ruby, Alexis, Dawson, Quin, Nora and Seth. Dear daughter of Michel and Rosalie (nee Simon) Prud’homme both predeceased. Dear sister of Teles (Agathe) predeceased, Albert (Rita) predeceased, Noël (Madeleine), Aurel (Rita), Wilfred (Bonnie), Donald (Georgette), Paul (Eve), Yvette Proulx, Pauline (Magloire) Denomme, Mona Bédard predeceased and Aurore Brabant predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Yvonne had many talents which included her several jobs. The local Avon lady for over two decades, the Sudbury Star and one of the first female employees hired at INCO. The most important job Yvonne held was her family - a lifelong commitment to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. There was no limit to the dedication she had for all of us.

She loved to write poetry, and many were fortunate enough to have a special poem written for them. She wrote special stories for her grandchildren, leaving them with handwritten books to read and treasure for a lifetime.

On behalf of our entire family, we want to express our gratitude for the compassionate care she received by doctors and nurses at Health Sciences North.
