In Loving Memory of Vasile (Bill) Dumencu. He left us peacefully at the age of 97, on Thursday February 17, 2021surrounded by loved ones. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 70 years Rita (nee Sasseville) . Loving father of Delisca (Jim), Bill (Pia), Nora (Sandro), David predeceased (Sue) and Corey (Fran). Loving Pepere of Peter (Raquel), April-Dawn, Jennifer, Chris (Andrea), Julie, Jenna (Mitch), Joseph (Jennifer), Scott, Ben, Wesley, Joshua (Sylvie), Zachary (Heather) and Shelby (Eric). Kael, Khloe, Jace, Rory, Casey and Tayla will get to better know their great grandfather through all of the fond and loving stories that we will continue to share. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and predeceased by all his brothers and sisters except his sister Sylvia (Veta) Barbeau. Born on the kitchen table in Creighton Mine in 1923 Bill worked at Creighton Mine for 43 years and was able to enjoy 36 years of retirement in the Sudbury area. He was a long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus, was on the board of the Creighton Mine Credit Union and was an active volunteer with the athletic association. Bill’s family was everything to him, with his time being spent as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Bill could and would tackle any project and was often leaned upon by family and friends for his experience and knowledge. He will be missed. As per his wishes, there will not be a service or viewing, but for those who would like to acknowledge his life, you are encouraged to donate to your favourite charity.
