First, sorry to hear of Hardo's passing. My condolences to you and your family. It seems all the 'good ones' are being taken far too early. My Marty passed in Nov. 2010 from cancer, he was 59. Back in the Fall of 1987 Hardo came and bear hunted with Marty down in Estaire, he was one of our first hunters here at Bear Paw Camp. I have a picture of him with one of your boys proudly displaying his trophy. It didn't print well enough to post the picture but I could always mail it if you would like. Being a surgeon, when they were skinning out the bear, Hardo pointed out all the various parts much to Marty's delight. I know over the years our fellows met up at the various outdoor functions they were so passionate about. I just had to share this memory with you for it is a good memory for me also. Five years ago my husband was very ill and no one was able to diagnose why, until dr ilves came on shift my husband was rushed for surgery and I was told to say my goodbyes in case, I had a 7 month old baby n two daughters at home, i was a wreck.....after what seemed like forever dr ilves came out explained what happened and sat with me until I calmed down and family arrived. He saved my family and I wont ever forget it. He was so sincere during the follow ups and even joked with us, about the scare he gave all of us. I will never forget how he took the time to sit with me holding me and asking if I was okay until family arrived, its exactly what I needed. He was a caring man and doctor. My thoughts are with his family and friends. I will never forget what he did for me and my family.

Harding was certainly a remarkable person, who lived a full and rewarding life. His in-depth knowledge of so many different areas was most impressive. Dear Janet and family, I'm so saddened to hear of the death of Hardo. I have many great memories of him, at camp, visiting with our families and of course me following him at Sudbury Memorial Hospital while he was doing his rounds. Being a new nurse I was so nervous, but he always was so kind and knowledgable and taught me so much. He was a great man and will be sadly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Janet and family: our deepest sympathies for your loss. We were so saddened to hear of Hardo’s passing. I have many fond memories of him as my Godfather and remember his visits to the camp in the summer, especially his fishing excursions. I remember him as an exceptionally kind and generous man, who enjoyed and lived life to the fullest. He will be dearly missed.
