You have my deepest sympathy for your great loss. May you each find an abundance of comfort in your family, friends, and especially the future blessings found in God's Word. He has promised to "swallow up death forever" and reunite us with all who have fallen asleep in death. Story shared: David's Love of Dogs

I still remember Nonna babysitting David, and Laura and I coming home from school through the laneway. David was always waiting to play with us. One time as we were walking along Victoria St. towards Zia Bruna (who was coming back from work) David saw a dog in a backyard on Simcoe St. David begged Nonna to let him go see the dog. Of course she did. All of a sudden the dog jumped the fence. Nonna threw her slipper at the dog and the dog went back into his yard. At that point Nonna sent me into the yard to get the slipper. I have never gotten over that. To this day (45 years later), I think of David whenever I see a big dog. I see that in his life dogs became most special to David, unlike me who still feels the dog tugging at my hand as I fought for Nonna’s worn out slipper.

Dear Zia Bruna, Zio Jack, Tiffany, Barb and Families, Please know how saddened we are to hear of the loss of your son, brother, husband and our cousin. As we gather with our family we reminisce about David and talk about the many great memories we shared. We hope that in time you, too will be able to laugh and smile about your many memories of David. I still remember David letting me wear his hockey jacket and thinking how cool it was to have a "little brother" who was a superstar hockey player. Our trip to Santa's Village was also a highlight we shared with David. May God give you peace knowing that now David no longer suffers and is spending quality time with Nonna and Nonno. It is with deep sadness that I write this message to you Zia Bruna, Zio Jack and cousin Tiffany and Barb. I was always so proud to pretend David was my "baby" brother in the days we spent together at Nonna and Nonno's. In later years I loved to hear the stories of Dave's hockey games and his scoring records. I was fortunate to catch up with David from time to time. David always remained "cousin David", never waiving from who he was and what he believed. My thoughts and prayers go to all of you. Dave's Family We want to extend our sympathy to all of Dave's family. Although we are deeply sadden, we feel provileged to have had him as a dear friend. There are so many things he taught Renee, Jared and I that we will never forget and will be forever grateful.
