Peacefully Friday, January 22nd, 2016 at Health Sciences North with loving family at his side
Beloved husband of wife Eleanor (Moore) Groom, predeceased 2008. Loving father of Debbie Fortin, Jeff Groom (wife Jane), and Glenn (wife Shannon). Cherished grandfather of Alicia (Braiden), Jordan (Nico) and Jaclyn (Julian). Special friend to Dianne Acteson. Dear son of Don & Audrey (McLean) Groom both predeceased. Dear brother of Joan Geden and Lois Armstrong. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Bill was very dedicated to his community and helping others. He sat on the organizing committee for numerous sporting events in Sudbury but most notably the 1983 Brier. Bill also enjoyed hunting and fishing and could not be deterred from his fall trek to Manitoulin Island but his favourite place to be was On The Rocks of Pig Island at camp in Whitefish Falls spending time with family and friends.
