Obituary for
Margot Muenster (Moeller)
It is with great sadness and very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the strongest most selfless woman we have ever known. Surrounded by family on Wednesday, May 31st, 2017, Margot’s battle with cancer peacefully came to an end.
Born on October 17th, 1933 in Hamburg, Germany to parents Wilhelm & Martha Moeller (both predeceased). Margot was the 3rd oldest of 9 children surviving WWII. Margot was proud mother of Baerbel (Bill), Birgitt (Norbert), Maren (Mike) and Anne (predeceased 1960). Margot and her then husband Horst (predeceased 2016) came to Canada in 1956 with $45 to their name and with lots of hard work and determination, they created a great life together in Naughton, Ontario. Not only was Margot a wonderful cook, she was quick witted, forgiving and would give you the shirt off her back. Margot was the most amazing Oma to Kurt (Erin), Erika, Kristine (Darrell), Jennifer (Jason), Mark (Tanis), Karl & “Tic Tac Oma” to Emily, Ryan, Isabel, Callum, Brady, Jayden and Dylan. Margot was predeceased by her special friend Karl in 2010 and leaves behind her niece Sandra and nephews Robbie (Shelley) and Aiden, & lots of family back home in Germany.
A special thank you to Dr. St. Martin who was her family physician for over 30 years, to all the staff at HSN 7A, 5 South, emergency and the Cancer Centre & a very big thank you to all of the staff at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre where Margot lived out her final days. At Margot’s request there will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Donations to St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre or Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home.
We have never known a life without you and this will be an extremely difficult time but like you always said “There are better days ahead”
